Education
Beatrice has four elementary schools, one middle or junior high school and one senior high school, plus two private elementary schools.
The Beatrice Public Schools District #15 completed a comprehensive school improvement process; and is used as a state model for standards and assessment.
The elementary schools have all-day, every-day kindergarten. Each of the four elementary schools are heavily involved with business partnerships that expose students to a sense of community cooperation with learning. Each school actively encourages parental support through activities, booster clubs and parent-teacher organizations. All buildings feature computer labs, and the classrooms are networked. Each facility houses its own individual library.

The Middle School, recently remodeled, reflects modern educational trends. Based on the premise of individual learning, middle school students take advantage of many opportunities for academic, social and athletic involvement. Moderate class sizes make for excellent teach-to-student rations (12 to 1).
Beatrice High School offers a complete array of required and elective courses; as well as, partnering with Southeast Community College to offer a tech-prep curriculum. Beatrice is enrolled in the nationally renowned Renaissance Program, which recognizes outstanding achievement. The school district has made a commitment to a flexible block schedule and a 9-to-12 school-to-work transition program. High School students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of activities at all levels interscholastic, sports, band/music, and drama.
The current graduation rate at Beatrice High School is 99.7%. The students have a 22.3 ACT score average (2006), which shows the quality of knowledge of our graduates--being among the top in the nation. Approximately 80% of the students continue their education attending college and/or trade schools, 5% choose military service, and 15% secure employment.
Beatrice supports religion-based schools for families who prefer a private-school learning environment. Trinity Luther Church offers preschool classes. Students at St. Joseph's Catholic can attend preschool through sixth grade classes, and St Paul's Lutheran Church School offers classes to children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
